Five materials, four compositions
Every composition we sell is filed under the material that carries it — resin, citrus, wood, flower, root — because that is what it is. There is no pyramid diagram, no top-heart-base story and no seasonal edition.

Nothing is filled in advance. A composition is built from the same eleven materials, rested, and bottled against the order — which is why there is a wait, and why there is no shelf of stock behind the counter.

The colour is the composition itself at the depth of the bottle. Natural extracts are not clear, and nothing is added to correct that.
The still
One still. One batch at a time.
A single copper alembic on the floor above, and it runs one material at a time. There is no second still, so a week spent on wood is a week not spent on anything else.
We distil what can be distilled here and buy the rest from people we can name — and we will name them if you ask.
The wait
Nothing leaves before six weeks.
A blend made this morning smells like its parts. Six weeks later it smells like one thing. The chemistry is unremarkable and the patience is the entire product, which is a difficult thing to put on a shelf.

Build
Weighed to the tenth of a gram against a written formula, not by eye and not by memory.

Rest
Six weeks in the dark at room temperature. Nothing is done to it and nothing is checked.

Filter
Chilled and filtered once. Some of the colour goes; none of the material does.

Fill
Bottled, dated and numbered. The date is on the label because it matters.
The house
A scent is not a signature.
You are not required to find one perfume and wear it for a decade. Materials behave differently on different skin and in different weather, and a house that tells you otherwise is selling loyalty rather than a smell.
We would rather you bought less of something you were sure about.

A first visit is the eleven materials on their own, in the order they are usually built. Nothing is blended, nothing is sold, and most people leave without ordering anything.
